Finding and reading information

Service pages and guides use section headings, descriptive links and navigation to help you find the information you need. Decorative owl artwork is not needed to understand a service.

If a feature or document is difficult to use, contact PDC for help. This page does not claim certification to an accessibility standard.

Ways to use the website

The text can be enlarged using your browser controls. Service and resource pages have clear section headings so you can scan the page or move between headings with assistive technology. Frequently asked questions use expandable answers to keep long pages manageable.

If a menu, filter or download is difficult to operate, email info@pdc.org.uk or call 0800 043 6667. You do not need to explain private case details merely to report a website problem.

Ask for another format or contact method

Contact info@pdc.org.uk or call 0800 043 6667 and say what would help. For example, you might prefer a written explanation instead of a call or a plain-text version of a checklist. Ask what can be arranged for your circumstances.

If the matter is sensitive, also explain how you can be contacted appropriately. An accessibility request should be considered alongside those communication preferences.

Reporting a barrier

A few practical details can help reproduce and fix a problem. Include only the technical information you are comfortable sharing.

  • The page address and the task you were trying to complete.
  • What happened and what you expected instead.
  • Your browser or device, if known.
  • Any assistive technology involved, if you wish to identify it.
  • A suitable way to reply and an alternative format that would help now.

Help with documents and outside services

If a downloaded file is difficult to read or use, include its filename when you contact PDC and explain the format that would help. You can ask about the information it contains without completing the file first.

Outside websites and any separately arranged document service may have different accessibility features. If a route agreed for your instruction is difficult to use, raise it with your PDC contact so that an alternative can be discussed.
