There are many reasons people hire a Private Investigator in order to trace people from the tracing of debtors to serving legal papers however the finding old friends or reuniting long lost relatives for our clients is one of the most richly rewarding aspects of life as a private investigator.
This might not be what first comes to mind when people think of ‘Missing Person Cases’ but they are still important cases and reuniting people who are missing from the lives of those who would wish to find them is something we can do and at this time of year particularly here at the Private Detectives Corporation we are often contacted by clients to trace someone who they have fallen out of touch with.
A Private Investigators extensive knowledge of public and private records means these enquiries can sometimes be carried out from the office, however, every detective knows that contacting people known to the subject either in person or on the telephone is a big part of tracing people.
There are many methods we employ in tracing someone, from looking at financial records to interviewing people who knew or knew of the subject of the investigation, each and every missing persons case is different but having performed them time and time again we know that if one route leads us to a dead end we can go back and look at another path in order to locate the subject.
In similar ways the time it can take to locate someone can vary hugely from one case to the next. We have had missing person cases where our investigators have located someone whom our client had spent over a year trying to contact in a couple of hours. In the same way, there are times when we can struggle as we hit brick wall after brick wall.
Generally the more recent there is trace of a person and the more information we receive about them means we will complete a successfully trace quicker.
